New York Islanders Fire Two Assistant Coaches
The New York Islanders announced today they have fired Assistant Coaches Jim Hiller & John Gruden (not the NFL Head Coach) effective immediately.
In typical Lou Lamoriello fashion, the entire release consists of twenty-six words; short & sweet. The Islanders recently promoted Lane Lambert to Head Coach & now promptly dismissed Hiller & Gruden, effectively indicating a complete overhaul of their coaching staff. Pretty on brand for Lamoriello who has a flare for the dramatic when necessary.
Elliotte Friedman reported that there was much interest in Hiller, and it is possible he lands a new job very soon.
