A recent draft pick of the Tampa Bay Lightning, who spent all of last season in North America, is reportedly heading home for 2022-23. Amir Miftakhov, 22, played last season in the AHL with the Syracuse Crunch, as well as the ECHL with the Orlando Solar Bears.

According to Sport24.ru, Ak Bars Kazan are negotiating with Miftakhov for his return to the team. He played with them the previous two seasons before coming to North America.

Miftakhov was drafted in the sixth round (186th overall) in 2020. He appeared in 22 games with the Syracuse Crunch last season, posting a record of 7-8-3. In Orlando, he suited up for five games, going 2-3-0.

Miftakhov is just one year into his three-year entry level contract which was signed with Tampa Bay in May of last year. Whether he intends to come back to North America at some point remains to be seen.
