Rick Westhead has been steadily reporting the breaking details of the CHL/Hockey Canada lawsuit settled a couple of weeks ago. As he initially reported, it is an ongoing situation so expect more information to come out.

Today, Minister of Sport Pascale St-Onge declared she intends to open a formal audit of Hockey Canada & the CHL. During the audit, there is expectation that Hockey Canada executives will testify about the case.

Sheldon Kennedy, co-founder of Canada's Sports Hall of Fame was direct in his criticism of Hockey Canada & the players yet to be mentioned who were mentioned in the lawsuit.

Kennedy continued, 'The Chicago Blackhawks were transparent with their report on Kyle Beach, even though they kept his name anonymous at the time. That was a bold and important step and releasing the report was the right move. We have to learn from this stuff.'

Another step in the right direction as far as accountability goes. Additionally, the House of Commons unanimously passed a motion summoning Hockey Canada to appear before the Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage. Hopefully this acts as a turning point for abuse survivors & the overall health of our people.
