Going into Monday's tilt with Denmark, Canada just needed one point to book their spot in the quarter-finals, but it wasn't as easy as many thought.

Denmark went up 2-0 in the first period, but Canada cut the lead to one through Max Comtois. But halfway through the second period, Comtois found himself in a bit a trouble.

The 23-year-old was backchecking and went to make a hit on Danish defenceman Oliver Larsen. Comtois caught Larsen up high and was given a five-minute major and a match penalty for checking to the head.

The IIHF Disciplinary Panel will more than likely have a look at the hit and determine whether or not it is worth of a suspension. A decision will likely come tomorrow morning as Canada plays at 1:20 p.m. ET.
