New York Rangers forward Sammy Blais was seen on the ice working with the team's skills coach before regular practice.

Blais was injured on a play against New Jersey Devils' defenseman P.K. Subban back in November. He suffered a torn ACL on the play - an injury which is usually season-ending with a minimum six month rehabilitation period. He had successful surgery in mid-December.

It is unclear if Blais will be able to return for the Rangers second round matchup against the Hurricanes, or even a later round if they move on. Injuries are beginning to pile up for the Blueshirts: Barclay Goodrow out week-to-week, Ryan Lindgren obviously battling through something from the first round against Pittsburgh, and now Tyler Motte injured in Game 1 against Carolina.

It would be a welcome sight to have a player light Blais back in the lineup.
