Jake Debrusk scored late in the second period of Sunday's Game 2 matinee between the Carolina Hurricanes and Boston Bruins to tie up the closely contested game thus far.

Carolina coach Rod Brind'Amour opted to challenge the goal. This is one of many goal challenges that have occurred thus far in the playoffs. It has been difficult to know what is and what is not goaltender interference. Each series has had at least one challenge. Some have been successful challenges; others have not.

After review, the goal stood as a good goal. This meant Carolina would be assessed a bench minor for an unsuccessful challenge. On the ensuing penalty kill, Canes' forward Sebastian Aho attempted to lift the stick of Bruins captain Patrice Bergeron. He missed the stick and caught Bergeron under the visor.

Aho was assessed a 4-minute double minor for high sticking, putting the Canes on a 5-on-3 penalty kill for the last 24 seconds of the second period and to begin the third period.

Despite being bloodied on the play, Bergeron wanted to finish the period. The official, Frederick L'Ecuyer, seemed to not allow the savvy veteran to play in such a condition.

This is building up to be a wild ending to Game 4 in Boston!
