Dahlin among eight players that have accepted an invite for Sweden's World Championship team

The 2022 IIHF World Hockey Championship is set to begin next Friday, and federations are beginning to form their rosters for the tournament. Final rosters aren't likely to be set until sometime next week, but on Tuesday, Sweden announced the first eight players that have accepted their invitation to participate at the World Championship.

Sweden will have a solid defensive group with the likes of Rasmus Dahlin and Oliver Ekman-Larsson. But they'll also be missing some big names on forward with Lucas Raymond, Elias Pettersson and William Karlsson all declining invitations to play in Finland starting next Friday.

Forwards (3): Rasmus Asplund, Emil Bemström, Jonatan Berggren.

Defencemen (4): Rasmus Dahlin, Oliver Ekman-Larsson, Adam Larsson, Erik Gustafsson.

Goaltender (1): Magnus Hellberg.

Sweden will play an exhibition game against Austria on May 5th, before opening their tournament on Saturday, May 14th also against Austria.
