Longtime Kings' captain Dustin Brown declared his intentions to retire after the team's playoff run concludes. The team decided he ought to don the Captain's 'C' one last time:

Brown has had a storied career in Los Angeles, captaining the Kings to two Stanley Cups.

However, in 2016 head coach Darryl Sutter stripped Brown of his captaincy & promoted Anze Kopitar. At the time, this was seen as a slight to Brown when in reality it was a bump to Kopitar. Many wondered if Brown's tenure in LA would last much longer.

If anything, however, Brown upped his game in 2017-18 when he set a career high in points. In addition to being a valuable offensive producer, Brown played the game 'the right way.' He brought physicality, grit, & discipline, which set the framework for the Kings' success for the last decade.

The Kings will face the Edmonton Oilers in the first round of the playoffs, which shan't be an easy road. How much longer will Brown's career last?
