He's only played four games this season and none of them have gone well. Now, the Montreal Canadiens, after earlier announcing that Price would not be joining the team for a trip to New York to face the Rangers, have stated Price will travel to the Big Apple in order to have an appointment with the doctor that performed surgery on his knee over the summer.

Little is being said about the reason for the appointment, and that has led to plenty of speculation online over whether Price has reinjured the knee, or whether the surgery simply isn't holding up the way he and the team had hoped. If either is the case, many are wondering if that would lead to the 34-year-old considering calling it a career.

Asked about the appointment following Tuesday's practice, head coach Martin St. Louis said it's difficult to provide any kind of update on Price's future until they know what is said by the doctor.

As it stands right now, Price is still listed as day-to-day. The Habs have two games left on the season. Sam Montembeault will get the start against the New York Rangers on Wednesday. There was some speculation that Price would start the final game of the season against the Florida Panthers on Friday. However, that will depend on the outcome of the meeting with his knee doctor.
