Kirill Kaprizov refusing to celebrate birthday to stay 'skinny' for playoffs
Minnesota Wild star forward Kirill Kaprizov turns 25 on Tuesday, April 26, and reporters decided to poke some fun at him during the team's media availability.
The Russia native is still learning English, but that didn't stop him from showing off how dedicated he is to a deep Minnesota Wild playoff run. A reporter asked him a question regarding whether or not he will be having cake after the game tonight for his birthday.
"Will you have birthday cake tonight then after the game?"
Kaprizov had a short but simple answer to the question, and it helped show the kind of person that Minnesota Wild fans have fallen in love with.
"No," Kaprizov says grinning widely. "Stay skinny....Before playoffs you know?"
The entire room erupted with laughter after this answer, and the exchange can be seen below.
