The San Jose Sharks are in the midst of searching for a new General Manager after Doug Wilson stepped down earlier this month for personal reasons.

According to Lisa Dillman of The Athletic, one of the names in consideration for the vacancy is former NHL goaltender and current ESPN insider, Kevin Weekes.

"Have seen a few names out there regarding San Jose. Not sure how fast the process is moving and the timeline, etc., but I'd keep an eye on the name Kevin Weekes (@KevinWeekes)" Dillman said.

During Thursday's edition of Insider Trading on TSN, Pierre LeBrun gave an update on the Sharks General Manager search, saying that they don't appear to be in any rush to appoint a new one, but they are expected to move to phone and in-person interviews over the next couple of weeks.

"They finally started reaching out to teams this week, I'm told. They started with a list of 50 names and then they went to 25. They are going to, I think, interview over the phone within the next week or so five or six candidates and then perhaps that will move to in-person interviews in the month of May. They're going to take their time. They are OK with the current front office to run the draft. They want to get the right person," LeBrun said.
