Islanders sign leading QMJHL scorer to entry-level contract

The New York Islanders announced on Thursday that the club and leading QMJHL scorer William Dufour have agreed to terms on a three-year, entry-level contract.
The 20-year-old leads the Quebec Major Junior Hockey League in goals (52) and points (109) through 61 games this season playing for the Saint John Sea Dogs. His current point total broke the Saint John single-season record for points, passing Panthers forward Jonathan Huberdeau's record of 105.
Over the course of his four seasons in the QMJHL, he has 214 points (106 goals, 108 assists) in 197-career games. He was a fifth-round selection (152nd overall) by the Isles in the 2020 NHL Draft.
