Frolunda of the Swedish Hockey League has unveiled another new logo, this one approved by members of the team's fan club. Frolunda had been known as The Indians since 1995, but recently started going by Frolunda HC and announced plans to unveil a new logo. It's first attempt, which you can see below, did not go well with fans saying it was too plain, looked too much like a logo for a Swedish clothing company, and even reminded a few of them of the swastika used by Nazi Germany.

Frolunda unveiled it's new logo Wednesday saying this one was approved by members of the team's fan club and will start being used next season.

As for the old Indian head logo, the nickname "Indians" refers to the club's successful years of the 1960s, when fans started to call the team the "Wild West". The Club was known as Vastra Frolunda at the time, which is West Frolunda in English. The team started using the nickname in 1995. Over the years, it was criticized for being outdated and somewhat offensive, until the team made the decision to drop it completely. Some very recognizable names in the NHL played with Frolunda through the years, including Daniel Alfredsson, Henrik Lundqvist, Frederik Andersen, Erik Karlsson, Rasmus Dahlin, John Klingberg, Loui Eriksson and several others.
