A surging Vegas Golden Knights team is now even scarier for opposing teams, as they announced tonight that they have activated forward Mark Stone off of long-term injured reserve (LTIR).

Stone, 29, hasn't played since early February as he chose to take some time off due to a back injury that had been nagging him all season. Despite battling the injury he had still been quite effective with 28 points through 28 games. He appears good to go now, which is huge news for this Golden Knights team who are looking to jump ahead of the Los Angeles Kings for third place in the Pacific Division.

In order to activate Stone, the Golden Knights have placed goaltender Laurent Brossoit, along with forwards Nolan Patrick and William Carrier on LTIR in order to keep themselves under the league's maximum salary cap. While some may argue that these moves are cheating the system, the NHL has been on record saying they closely monitor all LTIR situations. Obviously, they believe in this case the organization is doing nothing wrong, which means we will see Stone in the lineup tonight against the Vancouver Canucks.
