Per ESPN Insider, Emily Kaplan, three of the top five draft picks selected in the 2021 NHL Draft will sign with their respective NHL clubs.

The University of Michigan rostered four of the top five skaters in this draft; Owen Power, Matty Beniers, Luke Hughes, & Kent Johnson each drafted in the top 5.

Power has confirmed he will sign with the Buffalo Sabres at the conclusion of the Frozen Four. The Sabres finally seem to be on the come up after players like Alex Tuch & Tage Thompson bloomed into fairly productive forwards & D Rasmus Dahlin has had a bounce-back season.

Beniers, Seattle's first ever draft selection at 2nd overall, is likely to sign with the team barring outside circumstances. Seattle's first season didn't go well, but with goaltending & better goal production they could be closer than they appear.

Kent Johnson is interesting. Reportedly turning pro after this season, he will bring a top-shelf skillset to the Columbus Blue Jackets, a team desperate for homegrown talent. Picture Johnson dangling & feeding Pat Laine for a full season. Could be fun. Or...some of this:
