After missing the last 37 games, Colorado Avalanche defenceman Bowen Byram will return to the lineup on Tuesday night against the Pittsburgh Penguins.

Byram's last game was January 10th and following that game, he left the team, taking a personal leave of absence. Byram's father said that his son was dealing with lingering issues from previous head injuries.

"I know there's a lot of people thinking I shouldn't play or whatever, but to be quite honest, I feel lost not playing hockey," Byram said. "I'd rather be playing again and be at risk than be in the stands watching every game."

The Cranbrook (British Columbia) native has appeared in eighteen games this season for the Avs, recording eleven points (five goals, six assists), six assists, and is a plus-three.

Byram and the Avalanche can punch their ticket to the 2022 Stanley Cup Playoffs on Tuesday night if they get at least one point against the Pittsburgh Penguins. Puck drop is set for 7 p.m. ET.
