The Calgary Flames' GM Brad Treliving today announced Sean Monahan will undergo season-ending hip surgery.

After being healthy scratched for a couple of games the disappointing news came out, causing some to pose the question as to whether or not Monahan played his last hockey as a Flame. That's pure conjecture, but the prognosis isn't great.

This isn't the first hip surgery Monahan has required. In fact, it's his second such procedure in as many years. Reportedly, this injury is unrelated to the one previously sustained.

However, he fell out of favor in Calgary under new head coach Darryl Sutter, so it's reasonable to speculate he's done in Calgary.

Hoping for a speedy recovery from Sean & look forward to seeing him playing again.
