Nick Ritchie will have a hearing with the NHL's DoPS for slashing Anaheim's Kevin Shattenkirk during Friday night's 5-0 defeat. After engaging Shattenkirk along the boards, he offered 22 in white a light tap with the blade of his stick. It just so happened to be directed at Shattenkirk's face. Yeah, you can't do that.

An in-person hearing suggests Ritchie may be facing a suspension. Not that the play was overly egregious, but DoPS will probably send a message to the tune of Please Don't Whack Opposing Players With Your Hockey Stick.
