When people across the world think of Canada, they usually think of maple syrup, kindness, and ice hockey. Well, Canada is no longer just a hockey nation, it's become a soccer one as well.

On Sunday, the Canadian Men's National Soccer Team defeated Jamaica by a score of 4-0 at BMO Field in Toronto. With that win, Canada qualified for their first FIFA World Cup since 1986, and only the second in the country's history.

Throughout the qualifying campaign, Canada was led by Bayern Munich star Alphonso Davies, Beşiktaş forward Cyle Larin, Lille forward Jonathan David, as well as goalkeeper Milan Borjan, who plays at the club level for Red Star Belgrade in Serbia.

The 2022 FIFA World Cup will be played in Qatar from November 21st to December 18th. Normally, the World Cup is played in June and July, but because the average temperature is 42 degrees Celsius during those months, FIFA moved the tournament to later in the year.

32 nations will be placed into eight groups of four, with the top-two in each group advancing to the round of sixteen following the round robin.

Canada will find out their three group stage opponents on Friday at 11 a.m. ET, and the draw can be watched live on TSN.
