The Carolina Hurricanes have added an impact player right at the deadline. According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman, the Carolina Hurricanes have acquired pending unrestricted free agent forward Max Domi from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for defensive prospect Aiden Hreschuk.

Domi, 27, will now be on his fourth team in his seven year NHL career. He started off with the Arizona Coyotes before spending a couple years with the Montreal Canadiens, and then the last two years with Columbus.

In 53 games this season, Domi has 32 points (9 G, 23 A), 37 penalty minutes, and is a plus-two.

Hreschuk just completed his first NCAA season with Boston College where he had eight points (one goal, seven assists), 23 penalty minutes, and was a plus-nine in 37 games. He was selected with the 94th overall pick in the 2021 NHL Entry Draft.

According to Sportsnet's Elliotte Friedman "For accounting purposes, the Max Domi deal is a three-way between CAR/FLA/CLB. Some salary retention and prospects involved. See how it shapes out after the trade call."
