The Montreal Canadiens are reportedly going to make a big hire for their player development department next week by adding skills consultant Adam Nicholas, according to Sportsnet's Eric Engels.

"Habs making a big move in player development. Expect that at some point over the next week they'll announce they're hiring skills guru Adam Nicholas, who currently works with the Leafs and has worked with several high-profile NHLers. Sources say this is a great get for MTL," Engels said in a tweet.

Nichols, 36, has worked at several different levels over the course of his career. Some highlights include working as a skills consultant for the New York Rangers and Toronto Maple Leafs, as well as being the head coach of Team China at the 2015 under-18 World Championship Division 2B.

Currently, Nichols is working for the Chicago Steel of the United States Hockey League as a development coach, a role he's held for the last two seasons.
