Nikita Zadorov speaks out against Russia's invasion of Ukraine
Over the last day, several athletes across the sporting world have spoken out against the Russian invasion of Ukraine including Washington Capitals captain Alexander Ovechkin, who met with the media on Friday to share his thoughts.
Calgary Flames defenceman Nikita Zadorov, who is a native of Moscow, took to Instagram on Friday to share his thoughts in a simple two-word post.
On a black background, in red font, Zadorov said "NO WAR", while the caption of his post said, "STOP IT!!!".
It's tough for some of these Russian athletes to speak out because they have family and friends back home. They don't want any of them to be harmed because of what they say.
Our thoughts are with the people of Ukraine at this extremely difficult time.
