It must have been a strange few days for NHL forward Ryan Dzingel. A day after being traded from the Arizona Coyotes to the Toronto Maple Leafs, the 29-year-old ended up being put on waivers and was scooped up by the San Jose Sharks. Through it all, Dzingel is praising Maple Leafs GM Kyle Dubas for being honest with him.

According to reporter Curtis Pashelka, who covers the Sharks, Dzingel said Dubas called him directly after the trade and told him he'd be placed on waivers, so there was no need to fly to Toronto just yet.

"He called me and was honest, and you don't find that a lot in this league," said Dzingel.

He also said he was worried about everything that was happening at first, but is at peace with it now.

"At first, some things don't look like a good thing and then they turn out to be a huge blessing. Now I'm here with a huge opportunity, so it'll be on me to make the most of it."

It's a good attitude to have in what was likely not the best of situations for him. Dzingel has played 26 games this season with the Coyotes. He has four goals and seven points in that span.
