In their last nine games, the Los Angeles Kings have a record of 6-1-2 and currently sit fourth in the Pacific Division, tied with the Edmonton Oilers, and one point back of Calgary for second place.

Their recent form has shown that this team is capable of making the Stanley Cup playoffs, but they could use some reinforcements leading up to the NHL's trade deadline on Monday, March 21st.

According to David Pagnotta of The Fourth Period, the Los Angeles Kings are very interested in Arizona Coyotes defenceman Jakob Chychrun, with a source telling him that a deal between the teams is a strong possibility.

The asking price to acquire Chychrun is expected to be high, with at least a first round pick, prospect and more. One of the prospects in the Kings system that the Coyotes are interested in is Gabriel Vilardi.

"Several teams remain in the hunt for the 23-year-old rising star, including the Los Angeles Kings. Separate sources have told me the Kings have Chychrun extremely high on their wish list, with one describing a potential move with L.A. as 'a strong possibility,'" Pagnotta said.

"Talks are ongoing, and the Coyotes have interest in multiple players in the Kings' prospect pool, including 2017 11th overall pick Gabe Vilardi, who is playing currently at a point-per-game pace in the AHL."

Chychrun, 23, is under contract for the next three years following this season and has a cap hit of $4.6 million. He'll become an unrestricted free agent in July of 2025.

In 39 games this season, the Boca Raton (Florida) native has eleven points (two goals, nine assists), 40 penalty minutes and is a minus-twenty-eight.
