A scary scene in the AHL Wednesday night as Jack Rathbone, a prospect of the Vancouver Canucks, was strethered off the ice following a hit into the end boards. Rathbone, who is currently playing with the Abbotsford Canucks, crumpled to the ice and lay motionless for up to 13 minutes before he was finally carried off.

As he was being taken off the ice, members of Abbotsford and the Bakersfield Condors applauded. Before this, it was dead silence from the crowd.

There's no official update on his condition at this time. Rathbone has been on fire in the AHL and was recently named the league's Player of the Week just two days ago. The 22-year-old defenceman has five goals and 21 points in 19 games this season.
