The Canadiens took to the ice at their practice facility in Brossard, Quebec on Wednesday and frustrations boiled over during a mini-game.

Canadiens defenceman Alexander Romanov rode forward Cedric Paquette into the boards during scrimmage. The pair then engaged in a shoving match, with Romanov throwing a punch at Paquette. Players then came over to break up the scrum, with Brendan Gallagher talking to Romanov near the benches, likely trying to figure out what happened and telling him not to worry about it.

Both Romanov and Paquette then appear to make amends a short while later.

Given that the Canadiens are having a historically bad season in terms of the 112 years the franchise has been in operation. Through 48 games, Montreal has a record of 8-33-7 and are in the midst of a ten-game losing streak, two losses away from tying the franchise record of twelve set by the 1925-26 team.

The Canadiens will look to end their losing streak on Thursday night when they host the St. Louis Blues.
