The Colorado Avalanche have made a roster move following a terrible outing from Alexander Georgiev in game one of the first round series against the Winnipeg Jets.

It seemed pretty clear that something would have to be done, and the Colorado Avalanche have decided to do it. After a game one loss in their first round 2024 Stanley Cup Playoffs series against the Winnipeg Jets, Colorado has made a roster moved aimed at its issues between the pipes.

While the score was 7-6, the Jets Connor Hellybuyck was the better of the two netminders last night. Georgiev struggled, letting in 7 goals on 23 shots for a .696 save percentage. The team has now called up Ivan Prosvetsov from the Colorado Eagles.

"ROSTER UPDATE: We have recalled goaltender Ivan Prosvetov from the Colorado Eagles.

In addition, goaltender Arvid Holm has been reassigned to the Colorado Eagles."

According to TSN's John Lu, Justus Annunen, who has been the Avalanche's back up for a while, is sick. Head coach Jared Bednar indicated he might still go with Georgiev in game 2.

"#Avalanche Jared Bednar says G Justus Annunen is still sick. Sam Girard took part in today's optional skate and is TBD for Game 2.

On Georgiev, Bednar says his starter has to reset and play better than he did in Game 1. @TSN_Edge."

Prosvetsov has the most NHL experience of any of the other goaltenders with Colorado right now other than Georgiev, and has had a good season in the AHL, going 11-7-2 with a .921 save percentage. He played 11 games with the Avalanche in 2023-24, with a 4-3-1 record and a save percentage of .895. It sounds like Georgiev has one game to redeem himself, or he's on the bench.

"Ivan Prosvetov recalled being the Avs.

They want an option to go to should the wheels come off for Georgiev tomorrow and Annunen is still sick."

Game two of the series takes place Tuesday night at the Canada Life Centre in Winnipeg.
DO YOU THINK GEORGIEV CAN REDEEM HIMSELF IN GAME 2 AFTER THE EMERGENCY CALLUP AND DISASTROUS GAME?
