Philadelphia Flyers general manager Danny Briere made a statement today regarding the future of two Flyers players. He confirmed that both Dennis Gurianov and Marc Staal will not be returning to the team next season.
The general manager made the announcement as part of the Flyers' season debrief. The team was in a playoff position for much of the year, but they fell out of contention in the final days of the season after struggling down the stretch. Ultimately, the loss of Carter Hart proved to be fatal for the team's playoff hopes as they had the worst goaltending in the league in the second half of the season.
GM Danny Briere says to not expect Marc Staal or Denis Gurianov to be back next season.

Flyers fans had some interesting reactions to this news. Gurianov seems to be a player that not many cared about or even noticed. To be fair, he only got into four games with the team this season after they acquired him in a trade with the Nashville Predators. Staal on the other hand, was a much more noticeable player, and apparently not in a good way.
IM FREE FROM MARC STAAL
Many Flyers fans were celebrating the fact that he won't be returning to the team next season. Given the fact that he is 37 years old, this was likely his final year in the NHL at all. He had a single goal and five points in 34 games this season as well as a +2 rating.
No more Marc Staal on my team 🔥🔥
The Flyers are still in the middle of a retool, but given how well they played this year under John Tortorella, they will look to make another push for the playoffs next season.
