22-year-old NHL hopeful passes away in high-speed car crash

This afternoon saddening news has been reported out of Ontario. Craig Spence of the Blenheim Blades in the PJCHL has passed away at the age of 22.

Reports have announced and confirmed that 22-year-old hockey player from Ontario Craig Spence passed away in a car crash. The crash occurred on Hwy 401.

«The Blades are saddened by the passing of our Captain Craig Spence An amazing hockey player, an even better teammate, brother and friend Our thoughts and prayers are with Craig's family and all those who knew and loved him,» said the Blades hockey club on Twitter.

Along with the Blenheim Blades, several other teams joined in the mourning of Craig Spence including the Mississauga Steelheads.


The Steelheads are saddened to learn about the passing of former player Craig Spence. We would like to extend our deepest condolences to his family, friends, teammates and all those affected


The Georgetown Raiders are sadden to learn of the passing of former defenceman Craig Spence.

Craig played for the Raiders from 2019-21 alongside his brother Grant Spence.
