Crosby Faces Trade Rumours This Past Deadline And Fans Seriously Thought He Could Be Traded

With the Pittsburgh Penguins struggling this year and trading away Jake Guentzel, it looks like they are entering into a full-on rebuild era under Kyle Dubas. Despite thinking they had a shot this season, earmarked by the trade for Erik Karlsson this offseason, they are struggling to compete for a playoff spot at this point in the year.

With that, many rumours surfaced that the Penguins should trade Sidney Crosby, and those rumours intensified at the deadline.



With the talks, the Montreal Canadiens also came up as a potential landing spot for Crosby, since he appeared to be a fan of the club when he was a kid.

Crosby Reveals That He Wants To Retire as a Penguin

Crosby revealed how he felt about the trade deadline rumours in a recent interview, stating that he wants to retire as a Penguin as he has stated in the past, however, right now he is focused solely on this season. This comes as he is getting ready for a new contract negotiation this offseason.



With the offseason coming forward, there is clearly plenty of discussion that will happen between Crosby and Dubas as they figure out what works best for both parties.
